Our Story
SBI Group builds on a multi-decade legacy of direct involvement in New Zealand’s tools, construction, and industrial supply sectors.
The origins of this operating history trace back to 1976, when Steven Suckling established a tools supply business that would later form part of what is now publicly known as the Powerpac Group. The business was started in a practical, low-overhead manner: funded through a modest personal loan, stocked with professional-grade tools, and built through direct sales to customers across New Zealand.
Early supplier relationships included internationally recognised manufacturers such as Fein, Flex, Starmix, Eibenstock, and Ramset.
As the business matured, the next generation became involved, including Miles Suckling, contributing to the expansion of international supply chain, mechanical engineering and design capacity.
Now third generation in, SBI Group brings this accumulated experience together to provide robust supply chain solution for industrial, construction, and infrastructure sourcing requirements.
